Anticipatory Thanksgiving

As I spent some time practicing on both the A and B-flat clarinets this evening, I felt a wave of gratitude for these beautiful instruments;  and on this All Souls' Day, I send up a prayer of thanks to my grandfather Josh, who bought both of them for me.  These clarinets have served me so excellently well, for practically all of my musical life;  they are a miraculous gift.

All of the pieces of the Christmas Concert puzzle are starting to fit together.  About the last decision is, which carols to have the congregation sing along with us on that afternoon?

So far I am thinking:

[227] The Friendly Beasts
[228] He Is Born
[232] When Christmas Morn Is Dawning
[250] Once in Royal David's City
