Sibelius and Rod Serling

So . . . when clips of the Opus 63 were used to underscore the 11 October 1956 broadcast of Requiem for a Heavyweight, was that the first occasion that the Sibelius Fourth Symphony sounded through American television sets?

Toscanini and the NBC Symphony were still giving concerts on Sunday afternoons, so maybe Sibelius was heard.

"NBC Symphony" sounds so impossible today!

Today the "CBS Orchestra" has about 8 guys with a conductor who is a Bozo-wannabe!
